Hal Coopersmith

Hal Coopersmith, a third generation attorney, brings a myriad of professional experiences to Coopersmith and Coopersmith PLLC. Hal currently focuses his legal practice in commercial and residential real estate transactions and counseling start-up businesses.

Hal graduated from Brown University with honors in economics, writing his thesis “The Effects of the 2003 Smoking Ban on New York City Restaurants.” He graduated cum laude from Fordham University School of Law. While in law school, Hal made the Dean’s List, was an Associate Editor of Fordham’s Urban Law Journal, and received the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award magna cum laude. In addition, Hal placed 1st in the American Bar Association’s Negotiation Competition in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut Region and placed 4th in the American Bar Association’s National Negotiation Competition. 

From 2015 to 2019, Hal was named by SuperLawyers as a Rising Star for the New York Metro Area.

Hal has represented commercial landlords, multinational companies as commercial tenants and purchasers and sellers of high end residential real estate.
